Studio-be Protocol / Health Safety checklist will be emailed to registered students, and posted on the studio door for each student to self-check & to confirm each week with the teacher prior to class. If answer 'yes' to any questions on this Covid-19 Safety Checklist, do not enter the studio space, and instead let the teacher know by email or phone of your situation:
Are you currently experiencing any Covid-19 symptoms? (fever, cough, respiratory issues, sore throat, etc.)
Do you have any reason to believe you have Covid-19 now, or within the past 14 days?
Have you been in contact with anyone in the past 14 days who has Covid-19?
Have you travelled outside of Canada, or to another Province in Canada, within the past 14 days?
Are you fully vaccinated? if not, wear a mask while in the studio and studio washroom.
Stay home if you are not feeling well, let the teacher know, and arrange to do a makeup at some other time, when appropriate.
IN British Columbia, the Provincial Health Order of July 2021, states that "indoor high and low intensity group exercise is allowed with normal capacity.
Therefore, as of July the number of registered students per class will be gradually increased from 3 students /class to be 5-6 students per class, plus teacher. Physical distancing will still be in effect.
Masks are recommended in indoor public settings for all people 12 and older who are not yet fully vaccinated.
Students are required to pre-register for classes; no drop-ins, no visitors, unless by written consent from the teacher.
The studio has been used exclusively for yoga classes for the past 20+ years, and that function continues to date.
Maximum number of people in the room= 6
(5students, 1 teacher).
Bring your own mat and x2 large bath-sized towels to each class; additional wooden props will be provided by the studio. Props will be set out for you.
Studio door will be unlocked 15 minutes before class; upon arriving at the door, confirm the Safety checklist, and then use hand sanitizer before entering.
One person at a time in the foyer.
If applicable, wear a mask while in the studio, during class, and in the studio washroom. All students please wear a mask while entering and exiting the studio, when not in your practice area (ie. you mat).
Use hand sanitizer before entering or leaving the studio or washroom, one person at a time in the entrance,
Proceed swiftly to take off your shoes and hang your coat.
Move to your assigned area,and roll out your mat on the marked spot.
Sit on your mat in your assigned area, ready for class to begin, to allow others to move into the room.
Use hand sanitizer at the beginning and end of class to minimize the contamination of surfaces and props.
Clorox wipes (or similar) & hand sanitizer will be provided.
There is an Auto soap dispenser in the washroom, one-time-use handtowels., and a foot-operated bin for used handtowels.
Dividers and taped marks on the floor are an indicator of required physical distance to be maintained between people.
Instructions will be delivered verbally & through demonstration. Physical cueing will be avoided as much as possible.
At end of class, wipe down all props, your mat, and all hard surfaces touched during class. Clorox wipes or similar will be provided. Fold and take your mat and towel with you to leave. After class, exit must be one person at a time.
No congregating or conversing on the property outside of the studio before or after class.
Areas of common contact will be sanitized between classes (eg. lights switches, washroom fixtures, doorknobs.)
Safety protocol will be adjusted as any new guidelines come into effect through the BC Provincial Health Branch.
